I quickly made my way through the crowds and towards the crime scene, trying not to bump into anyone as I did so. As soon as Lestrade saw me he gave me a smile of relief and gave me a wave, ensuring that I was allowed at the scene.

“Hello ____.”

“Hey Greg! How are you?”

“Busy; I’m so glad you’re here, I could do with your help.” He led me over to two bodies which were both female (from what I could tell) and both were mutilated horribly. I let my senses take control as I paid close attention to the scents around me, closing my eyes as I sniffed for the scents hidden to human noses. I opened my eyes and smirked when I found what I was looking for. I then turned to Greg, who was looking at me for answers.

“Is anyone looking?” I asked and Greg shook his head, causing me to lift my hat off my head quickly for a few seconds to reveal my ca ears, which picked up the tiniest of noises. I frowned and looked up when I spotted a dark silhouette in one of the side streets, watching as it disappeared into the shadows. The figure was suspicious enough and I had also just seen the glint of a weapon in his hand. I turned to Greg, having all the information I needed. I replaced my hat before filling Greg in with my findings.

“Were these females prostitutes or anything like that??” I asked, and Greg seemed confused with my question. “Er… Yes… From what we found out they both worked at the local strip club but they er… They didn’t really keep their relationship with customer’s staff-customer…”

“Thank you Greg, that’s all I needed to know. These mimic Jack the Ripper murders, you've heard of them haven’t you?”

“Of course.”

“Well he killed prostitutes which is close to what these girls were doing and their bodies are mutilated like they were back in the Victorian era. I can also pick up the scent of sterilized equipment which would have been used to mutilate the bodies, which all indicates to a doctor or butcher, someone like that who is obsessed with Jack the Ripper and also someone who went to the club these girls worked at. I also just saw a six-foot figure over in that alley over there with some sort of sharp instrument in his hands, so you might want to start in that area.” I said, chuckling as Greg’s mouth opened and closed.

“You’re amazing.” He stated, causing me to chuckle.

“Not really… I’m just helping as much as I possibly can.” I replied, giving Greg a hug. “Anyway, I’ll leave you to it. I need to go to mom’s house for dinner and I really don’t want to be late. Good luck with your hunt for the killer, and I hoped I helped.”

“Of course you helped! I’ll give you a call when we catch him.”

“Thanks Greg.” With some last goodbyes I made my way out of the crime scene, keeping my head down low. I didn’t really like to be in the public eyes that much, unlike a certain detective who I could see walking towards me. I quickly averted my gaze away from him and got in a cab, thinking of Sherlock’s face when he realised someone had already solved the case. I personally didn’t know Sherlock, as I was a police officer working with Greg and only got called when he was too annoyed to deal with the detective. Greg and I had been friends for years, both wanting to be police officers when we were younger. He had never judged me or anything like that, not even when I showed him my ears and tail signifying I was part cat. I was so glad I could work beside my best friend, as whenever I was down instead I could actually enjoy work and Greg always managed to bring me up again.

“Miss? We’ve arrived.” I was pulled out of my thoughts by the taxi driver’s voice and I realised we had arrived at my mother’s house. I quickly thanked the driver and paid him before jumping out of the car and walking up the steps to my mother’s house.

*Sherlock’s POV*

I swiftly followed the sound of the numerous sirens to the crime scene, my eyes quickly finding that of Lestrade’s. He seemed oddly relaxed to say he was on a crime scene, a scene that looked and sounded as though it needed back up. I pushed my way to the front and just as I was about to duck under the police tape Lestrade saw me and waked over, a smile on his face.

Sorry Sherlock, but the case has already been solved.” I frowned at this. The police never solved a case this quick unless I was around.

“What do you mean? You never solve cases this quickly without me.”

“One of my own officers solved it.” Lestrade said with pride, a victorious smirk on his features. “We are pursuing the man right now as  matter of fact.”

“That’s impossible. All your men are terrible at solving puzzles.”

“Not all of them are like Anderson, Sherlock.” Lestrade said, watching as I looked hurriedly about the crime scene. “Sorry, Sherlock, but you just weren’t needed this time.” I looked down at Lestrade, my frown increasing.

“I am always needed. Your men aren’t good enough so let me have a look at the scene of the crime or else I will force my way in.” Lestrade sighed but let me through, at which I started looking at the mutilated bodies and quickly deducing them.

“Looks like a Jack the Ri-“

“We know that.”

“Alright… It would have to have been a butch-“

“We know that to.”

“The victim’s wounds suggest the weap-“

“We know that as well.”

“Who is this officer?” I finally snapped, wanting to know who was good enough to rival me. Lestrade smirked again and I knew he was enjoying how wound up I was, but I hated anyone who could match me, especially if they were a police officer. They were not going to get a better reputation than me.

“She doesn’t like the limelight and she doesn’t like to throw her talents around, so I’m afraid I can’t answer that question. I’m sure you’ll deduct her sooner or later.”

“It’s not Donovan is it?”

“Don’t be so stupid.” Lestrade said, though he smirked at my little joke. “Anyway, I need to get this place cleaned up, so I’ll see you at the next crime scene, unless my officer beats you there.” I sent him one last glare before turning around on my heels and striding away, trying to see if the mystery officer was still around. I couldn’t see anyone on the team out of the ordinary, so I continued on, deciding to go back to Baker Street to see if I had any clients waiting there.

When I arrived I went to walk up the stairs but got stopped by Mrs. Hudson’s voice.

“Sherlock? Is that you?”

“What is it Mrs Hudson?”

“Come here, there is someone I want you to meet.” I sighed but made my way to Mrs Hudson’s voice, looking around for the person she wanted me to meet.

“Well? Where are they?”

“She is my daughter Sherlock, and she is just in the front room. She’s a police officer and she is very good at what she does.”

“Mrs Hudson all police officers are terrible. I doubt she’d be any different.”

“You will be surprised.” Mrs Hudson said, before moving over to the tea pot. “She is in the living room if you want to meet her.” I gave Mrs Hudson one last look before moving into the living room to see what Mrs Hudson’s daughter was like.

*Reader’s POV*

I lay on the sofa waiting for my mother to come back with the tea. She had said something about Sherlock Holmes coming back soon and she wanted me to meet him, so as I waited for him to arrive I transformed into my cat form, as I found it more relaxing and I could stretch across the whole sofa. Just as I got relaxed I pricked my ears at someone walking into the room and when I looked up there was Sherlock Holmes, looking very confused as he looked around the room. I quickly changed back into my human form and I look of mild surprise was on Sherlock’s face as he watched me. I looked to see that I was in my work clothes, realising that Sherlock could probably now guess that I was the mystery detective.

“You must be Sherlock.”

“You must be Mrs Hudson’s daughter.”

“My name is ____.” I said, holding my hands out for him to shake. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”

“You to; I take it you are the officer Lestrade was talking about?”

“What do you mean?” I asked, confused.

“I turned up to the crime scene to find someone had already solved the crime. You’re still in your work clothes with your badge on show, meaning you should be still at the crime scene. The fact you’re here implies that you wanted to get away from there quickly which leads me to believe you don’t like the spotlight which is what Lestrade said. That and the fact you have cat ears and what appears to be a tail.” He said, looking behind me. I blushed and looked down, causing Sherlock to smile in amusement.

“You are good at what you do.”

“I’ve heard you’re good as well.” Sherlock stated and I looked up to meet his gaze.

“Not as good as you… I do my bit every now and again.”

“Don’t be so modest. You solved the case easily today.”

“Well it was an easy case, You just needed eyes and ears.” I stated, shrugging my shoulders.

“I don’t think Lestrade would be pleased to hear that.”

“Probably not.” I agreed, smiling up at the detective. “Will you be staying for some tea Mr. Holmes?”

“The people who I can tolerate call me Sherlock.” The detective said, causing me to chuckle. “And yes, I may as well stay for tea. You seem entertaining enough.”

“Thank you… I think…” Sherlock chuckled before reaching up and stroking behind one of my cat ears. I couldn’t help myself and leant into his body, wrapping my tail around his legs as I let out small sounds of pleasure. My ears were very, very sensitive, but I soon lost myself in the feeling of Sherlock scratching them softly.

“So how are you part cat?” I looked up at him, silently pleading him to stroke my ears again which he did with an amused smile.

“No idea. I was just born this way.” I replied, gripping onto his coat. “That feels really good.”

“I figured.” Sherlock said, amusement in his voice. “You should come up to 221B, maybe solve some crimes with me from time to time. I don’t need help-“

“Of course you don’t…”

“-But I would love to see what we could achieve together.” I looked up at him and smiled, thinking over his proposition.

“I would like that very much.”

*A Few Weeks Later*

I raced up the stairs to 221B, eager to see my friend and crush Sherlock and his flatmate John Watson.

“John? Sherlock? I’m here!” I called, opening the door without knocking.

“I guessed by the mad dash up the stairs.” Sherlock stated, continuing to play his violin. “Even John knew it was you.”

“What do you mean, ‘even John’?” John asked, looking offended but not surprised.

“I mean your practically an idiot.”

“Everyone is an idiot to you Sherlock.” I said, taking a seat on the sofa.

“Not everyone.” He said, looking pointedly at me. I blushed at this and John rolled his eyes, placing his newspaper down and grabbing his coat.

“Well I’m going for a walk. The sexual tension in here is too much for me.” He said, before disappearing out the door. Once he had gone I turned into a cat and leaped onto Sherlock’s shoulders, laying down so that I was draped over the back of his neck. I licked his ear and he smiled, both of us watching as the world went by. I started to make purring noises and Sherlock smiled, placing his violin down in favour of stroking in between my ears. He set me down on the sofa and I turned back into my human form, just wearing some casual clothes. Sherlock then settled in his armchair and I set myself down on his lap, resting my head on his shoulder whilst he stroked behind my ears. My heart was going crazy, especially as Sherlock was so close to me. I really wanted to tell Sherlock how I felt about him, however I knew that he didn’t really want a relationship and I didn’t want to make things awkward between us, so I didn’t say anything to him. He probably already knew I liked him anyway and hadn’t said anything to me because he didn’t like me, so I decided to settle as his friend.

“Something is on your mind.” Sherlock stated, looking at me with his piercing blue eyes. “What is it?”

“Nothing important.” I answered, giving him a smile. “Don’t worry about it.”

“I’m not worrying, I’m curious.” Sherlock replied, causing me to snort I laughter.

“Of course.” Sherlock frowned, looking into my eyes. I held his gaze, not wanting to give anything away.

“Your pupils… They are dilating.” The detective murmured, cupping my face in one of his hands. “Your pulse is quickening…”

“Sherlock, stop it…” I mumbled, looking away from his gaze.

“____, look at me.” He ordered, his voice sharp. I did as he asked, surprised when his gaze was soft and his face adorned a small smile. “Sentiment is a very dangerous thing, ____.” Sherlock murmured, cupping my face in his hand again.

“It’s something I can’t help.” I replied, finally giving in to Sherlock’s deductions.

“You do love me.” Sherlock murmured, almost to himself. “How long?”

“A couple of weeks.” I replied automatically, not wanting to lie to the detective.

“Why have you not said anything?”

“I figured you already knew of my feelings towards you and you didn’t say anything because you didn’t feel the same. I value your friendship too much to lose it because I want to be more.”

“Oh ____; your deductions are nearly as good as mine, I expected better of you.” Sherlock murmured, causing me to frown in confusion. I opened my mouth to retort but instead let out a surprise sound when I found Sherlock’s lips on my own. My whole body tensed but as soon as I realised what was happening I smiled, closed my eyes and kissed back, wrapping my tail tightly around Sherlock’s waist. I felt my whole body melt against Sherlock, our bodies touching in any way possible. I moaned as Sherlock deepened the kiss, pulling me closer to him as he did so. My hands moved up Sherlock’s body until they were tangled in Sherlock’s hair, causing the detective to let out a moan of his own as I pulled gently at his hair. We pulled away when we were both desperate for oxygen, Sherlock smiling up at me.

“How did you not guess my own feelings towards you?”

“The thought never crossed my mind.” I murmured, still panting. Sherlock chuckled and stroked behind my ears, causing me to let out a little purr.

“I love you.” Sherlock finally murmured, holding me as though I was the most precious thing in the world.

“I love you to.” I whispered back, leaning down to kiss the detective again. “I’m so glad mom decided to introduce us.”

“We would have met anyway. I’m sure Lestrade would have wanted us to meet.”

“Maybe. Greg’s not really into my relationship status though.”

“Who’s Greg?”

“Oh for God’s sake…”

“I love you?”

“… I love you to.”
This is a request from FandomQueen2 and I hoped you liked it! I think Sherlock was a bit out of character and I'm sorry for that, ut I didn't want to change it too much, so yeah... I hope you enjoyed it anyway!
