I snapped my book shut and huffed in frustration as I heard the arguing start.
“Here we go again…” I murmured, standing and walking towards the commotion. A couple of weeks ago, Sam and Dean had left a human Lucifer and Michael on my doorstep, begging for me to look after them. I had taken them in as I didn’t think they were going to be too much trouble, but boy was I wrong. They were constantly fighting, so I couldn’t have a moments piece, and even when they weren’t you could taste the tension in the air. As I neared the living room I could make out some phrases and knew they were arguing about why Michael cast Lucifer out. When I looked Michael was on top of Lucifer and pinning him to the floor, nearly choking him. Lucifer’s eyes were wide with panic and I quickly pushed Michael off Lucifer, allowing the ex-archangel to get his breath back before turning on them.
“What the hell is going on?” I nearly shouted, hands on hips as I glared from one to the other.
“He started it.” Lucifer muttered childishly, glaring at his older brother.
“I don’t care Lucifer. What happened?” I asked again, growing impatient.
“Well we were watching this film-“
“Legion.” Michael broke in and I groaned as I saw that they had indeed found where I had been hiding it.
“And I simply said how unlikely it is that Michael would fall, and things just escalated from there.” Lucifer explained, and I sighed.
“Guys, this is the same argument nearly every day, and I am growing sick of it. Can we not attempt to solve this by talking, instead of fighting like toddlers?” I asked, and Lucifer looked up at me defiantly whilst Michael looked ashamed.
“I am sorry ____... I suppose we could try and talk it out…” Michael murmured and I smiled.
“Good. What do you think Lucifer?” I asked and he shrugged. I knelt next to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders, allowing him to snuggle up to me.
“Only if you help.” Lucifer finally whispered and I agreed.
“Ok. Let’s take this to the table.”
I sat them facing opposite each other and I sat on the end of the table so I could stop any fighting if any did happen, as I knew that things would probably get a bit heated. They looked really uncomfortable, and I decided to prompt them on.
“So, Michael, let’s start with you, ok? Lucifer, I do not want you to interrupt or anything, ok? Let Michael say his peace.” Lucifer nodded and I gave Michael a nudge. The eldest looked at the table, twiddling his thumbs as he spoke.
“I only cast you our because Father said so, and had it been anyone else I would never have done such a thing. I… I suppose my own feelings also got in the way, as I felt betrayed and angry at you for rebelling when Father had been so good to us and after all I had done for you up until that point. I loved you, Lucifer, and I still do, you are and always will be my little brother after all, but… something had changed you. The archangel I had brought up would never do such a thing, and it was a bit of a shock to me. I didn’t know how to react, and obeying Father was the only thing I knew.” Michael explained, though Lucifer glared up at him angrily.
“You LIAR!”
“LUCIFER!” I shouted, and he glared at me. “Calm down, ok? We are going to sort through this.”
“He’s lying though. You enjoyed watching me fall.” Lucifer snarled and tears built up in Michael’s eyes.
“I never did brother! It tore me apart. I begged Father to let me take your punishment, but he refused. Lucifer I raised you, how could watching you fall ever be easy for me?” Lucifer looked into his brother’s eyes and his gaze softened.
“You honestly felt that way?” Lucifer asked and Michael nodded, giving Lucifer weak smile.
“You are my little brother Lucifer… How could I get pleasure from seeing you in pain?” Lucifer smiled and walked around the table, hugging Michael and settling into his brother’s lap. I smiled at the picture and stood, ruffling Michael’s hair. The archangel smiled up at me and allowed me to place a kiss on his forehead.
“Thank you.” He mouthed and Lucifer’s blue eyes tracked to mine, looking up at me with love and light. I could see why he was called the ‘Light-bearer’.
“Yes, thank you- you truly are something special, you know that?” Lucifer asked and I blushed, shuffling my feet.
“I-I’m really not. I’m just human.” I stated and Lucifer chuckled, standing and wrapping me in a hug.
“My dear, you are purer than any human I have seen; maybe if all humans were all I like you I could bow to them.” Michael also wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in for a hug, kissing my forehead.
“Lucifer is right. How can you be so modest when you did what our Father failed to do?” I shrugged at Michael’s words and both archangels chuckled. “We promise we shall not cause trouble from now on.”
“Yeah, we promise.”
“Thanks boys. Maybe this arrangement can work now.”
For the rest of the night we all settled on the sofa and watched a film, snuggled up together with no tension and no arguments. Half way though the film both Michael and Lucifer were asleep and I couldn’t stop the flutter in my heart as I saw how peaceful and handsome they both were in a different light.
“What would I do without you two, huh? Who’d have thought that when Sam and Dean dropped you off you’d have such a big impact on me?” I closed my eyes and nestled down next to them, happy in their warmth. “I love you. Both of you, and I know things aren’t going to be easy but we’ll work through it, but one things for certain; I’m not letting either of you go, ever.”

"Lucifer, does Michael like me?" she asked, as they lay back in the soft grass. Lucifer chuckled.

So I just thought of this idea and decided to write it down. I have no idea how good it is or how well I've managed to word it but I quite liked the idea so... yeah. I just started writing and this is how it came out, so I hope I've done a good job and done the idea justice.
